In 1996, Unesco added Gammelstad Church Town to its list of heritage objects worldwide that are deemed irreplaceable to mankind. Gammelstad has one of the biggest and best preserved church towns in the world, with more than 400 Church cottages surrounding the mediaeval stone church.

5 February you have the opportunity to visit Jokkmokks wintermarket with us.
The district of Jokkmokk is located at the arctic circle and Sweden's next largest district in size. Jokkmokks marknad has a long history and is regarded as an unbroken tradition for over 400 years back in time. In 2005, celebrated the winter markes 400th anniversary and the number of visitors was around 80,000 during the market week.The market has grown to a large arctic winter festival and tourist magnet where arts, crafts and culture have become equally important as the commerce.
The national parks are Sarek, Padjelanta, Stora Sjöfallet and Muddus and they belong to the Laponia area, which in 1996 UNESCO nominated one of the earth's World Heritage sites.

From the Ice Age to the Present
Ten thousand years ago, glaciers carved a riverbed and the Torne River was born. Since then, the crystal-clear, pure water of the Torne River has flowed freely along its 600-kilometer path through Lapland out to the sea in the southeast.
The entire ICEHOTEL is on loan from the mighty Torne River and is a place where time stands still. And very soon, when the spring comes and then finally the entire creation will once again become part of the rushing rapids coursing toward the sea.
The story about a hotel made of ice and snow
